Nicola Tondini received his PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Trento in 2009. He is currently Assistant Professor of Structural Analysis and Design at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Trento. His research interests mainly involve the behaviour of structures subjected to accidental actions such as fire and earthquake. He has been a FP7 Marie-Curie fellow with a project on the behaviour of steel- concrete composite structures subjected to fire and seismic loading. He interacted and collaborated with a number of researchers: Jean-Marc Franssen, Fire resistance of structures, University of Liege, Belgium; Olivier Vassart, Fire resistance of structures, ArcelorMittal, Luxembourg; Bozidar Stojadinovic, Earthquake engineering and thermomechanical coupling; ETH Zurich, Switzerland; Jean-Marc Battini, Computational mechanics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, Sweden; Oreste S. Bursi, Structural dynamics and earthquake engineering, University of Trento, Italy. He is currently member of the Project Team “Mandate M/515 phase 1 tasks for the development of the 2nd generation of EN Eurocodes. STC1 EN1991-1-2: Actions on structures exposed to fire”.
